How Melbourne Epoxy Flooring Pros Handles a Floor
Melbourne Epoxy Flooring Pros coats concrete floors in Melbourne, Florida and the south Brevard County towns nearby: garages, lanais, pool decks, patios, interior slabs, workshops, hangars and commercial floors. Our systems include epoxy, polyaspartic, vinyl chip and metallic, and we also resurface pool decks. The system for your floor gets chosen only after we have seen the concrete and tested it.
Melbourne is a city with concrete from almost every decade. Census survey figures put the median home here at 1985, but about one in nine houses dates from the 1950s and roughly one in seven from the 2000s. A slab poured seventy years ago and one poured last decade do not behave the same way under a coating, so we treat every floor as its own job.
How we work
- We come to you. The estimate takes place at the floor itself. We measure it, check the edges and joints, and find out what the space is for: cars, a trailered boat, a golf cart, a workbench, a home gym.
- We test the slab. In a wet climate, moisture rising through the concrete causes more coatings to let go than anything else. We test before we quote, and if readings are high we say so and price a primer made for it.
- We explain the prep. Most floors are diamond ground so the resin can bite into clean, open concrete. Old paint, sealer and kit epoxy come off. Cracks, pitting and broken joint edges get filled.
- You get it in writing. On paper you see which system we chose, each coat in it, the prep, the cure times and the total. The written estimate is the price we work to.
- We watch the weather. Coatings are applied when the air temperature and the slab sit far enough above the dew point. On a sticky summer afternoon that can mean an early start or a moved date. We would rather reschedule than trap moisture under a fresh coat.
- We tell you when to use it. Before we pack up, you get clear timing for walking on the floor, returning your belongings and parking the car, tied to the product we used.
What we do not do
We do not sell a one-size system. A shaded garage in an older Melbourne neighborhood, a west-facing garage in a newer Viera subdivision and a pool deck in Indialantic each get different products, especially for the topcoat that faces the sun. We also do not coat over a slab we think will fail. If we believe the concrete has a flaw no coating will solve, you hear that at the estimate.
