Epoxy Flooring in Cocoa, FL

Epoxy flooring in Cocoa often ends up under a work truck. According to Wikipedia, construction and retail trade were the two largest industries by employment in the city as of 2017. Contractors bring home trailers, tools and materials, and the garage takes the weight, the mud and the spilled fuel.

A floor for a working garage

If your garage doubles as a staging area, the floor needs a heavier build:

• A thick epoxy base to resist gouges from jacks and tool chests
• A full flake broadcast to hide mud and scuffs
• A chemical-resistant topcoat for diesel, hydraulic fluid and solvents
• Extra texture so wet boots do not slip

Many slabs from the 1950s

Cocoa grew fast after the space industry arrived, from 3,098 residents in 1940 to 12,244 in 1960. Census survey data via Point2Homes places 21.9% of homes in the 1950s and 19.3% in the 1960s. Those floors are often stained, cracked and without a vapor barrier. Grinding, patching and a moisture test come first.

Cocoa Village and local industry

The historic downtown, Cocoa Village, runs along Florida Avenue to Stone Street. Shops and restaurants there need floors that look good and can be mopped every night. Cocoa also hosts one of the facilities building SpaceX Starship, and the industrial work that follows it needs tough concrete coatings. We install decorative and industrial commercial systems and can work after hours.
